Bell Ringers a short Quiz  with no more that 5 questions at the beginning of each class each day. The Quiz will be worth 10pts and will be timed. The Quiz will begin at 8:25 am for the AM Class and 12:25 pm for the PM class, the quiz will close 8:32am and 12:32pm. When this closes its closed for the year NO make up for the bell ringer.  

Combination Welder, is a more in-depth course of the hands on welding process. SMAW open V / Bevel groove welds, in the 2G, 3G and 4G plate.        SMAW open V / Bevel groove welds on Pipe in the 2G, 5G, & 6G positions. GMAW open V / Bevel Groove welds, in the, 2G, 3G and 4G Plate positions.        GMAW open V / Bevel groove welds on Pipe in the, 2G, 5G and 6G positions FCAW open V / Bevel grooves welds in the, 2G, 3G and 4G plate positions. FCAW open V / Bevels groove welds on Pipe with the aid of a pin wheel rotator. Students will also work on GTAW Aluminum plate in the 2F and 3F positions. Along with GTAW Plate and Pipe in the Horizontal and Vertical Positions.

There is a course in Blue print and welding symbols. Along with preparing a resume and working on interview skills and proper etiquette for obtaining a job in the welding industry. 

Entry Level teaches the student the basic principles, in Shop and Welding Safety. It also includes basic instruction in Cutting Processes (Oxy-Fuel, Plasma Arc Cutting and Air Carbon Arc Cutting). Students also learn the basic in four Welding Processes (SMAW- Shielded Metal Arc Welding, GMAW - Gas Metal Arc Welding, FCAW- Flux Cored Arc Welding and GTAW- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). There is also basic in, (Weld Detail Drawings, Welding Blue Prints, Welding Joint Fit-Up and Adjustment, Weld Quality and Metal Preparation and Heat Treatment). 

Students also attend an OSHA 10 training class. 

Students have the opportunity to receive certificate recognize by AWS - American Welding Society in the following disciplines, ( Cutting Process Operator, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Corded Arc Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). There is also opportunity to receive a National Career Readiness Certificate in a (Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze level) in reading and math. This also singed by the Governor of Oklahoma. 

 

Daily / Weekly Grade

ยท        There will be a total of 20 pts. per day times number of days in week (5 days = 100pt per week)   20 pts. Will be awarded for following the Attendance policy for being in class on time, following ALL safety rules, acting in a professional manner , staying on task , class participation and  following shut-down and clean-up procedures.                                                                                                                                                                                          5 pts. will be deducted for the following Items: Tardy, Disruptive in classroom,  Any safety issue, Not following clean up procedures, Horseplay,               Cell Phone use (unapproved calling, texting, listing to music, playing video games, etc.) Starting clean up before 11:00am or 3:00pm, Shutting down early for break, Talking excessively too other students about other things besides welding, Not having proper welding attire, profanity and or any action deemed inappropriate for a school setting. 

  0 pts. Will be awarded for being absent from class. Expectation for attendance for Instructor and students is to strive to be in class on time every day.      Excused Absences - Yes there are times of uncontrollable absences.                                                                                                                                 Students will be awarded  20 pts  for the following absences:  Local High School activity approved by local high school and/or Central Tech, Funeral (Parent must notify Central Tech).
